Program Details

Group size
Adventure Camp at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay can accommodate groups of 15 to 58 students. Large groups are divided into smaller teams of one camp counselor for every eight or ten campers.

Grade levels
We offer Adventure Camp programs for students in grades 4 through 12. Groups of adults can also be accommodated.

Lengths of session
For grades 4–5 we offer two-night camp sessions. For grades 6 and up, choose a two- or three-night session. Or let us customize a session to meet your time and budget constraints.

Time of year
We offer two- and three-night sessions from January–May and September–December. You choose the dates (subject to availability). Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is open every day, year-round.

Counselor: student ratios
For grades 4–8, we provide at least one counselor for every eight students. For grades 9 and up we provide at least one counselor for every 10 students.

Chaperones
Our staff will supervise and guide your students throughout their Adventure Camp experience. We do not require chaperones; however, attending chaperones are expected to participate in all aspects of camp and to actively assist with behavior or safety issues that may arise.

Concurrent groups
Depending on the camp schedule, it is possible that other school or youth groups may also be using Mzinga Lodge. With your prior consent, your group may be “mixed in” with another group for certain activities.

Field Trips
Camp groups frequently incorporate field trips to nearby county park sites along the scenic Hillsborough River. Field trips to Discovery Cove, SeaWorld Orlando, and Adventure Island Water Park may be arranged in advance.
